A Blessing Upon My Body

In light of what is going on in our country, I thought I would take a moment to pause. I have been angry. I have been experiencing rage, sorrow, shock, fear, powerlessness, and pure defiant determination. It is important to allow all these feelings to come up and be witnessed. We cannot suppress our own voices as we are being suppressed. A ripple has gone out across our country, tearing away human rights that have been fought long and hard for. I am afraid as many others, that it will not stop at a woman’s right to decide what is best for them. I stand with the LGBTQ+ community, BIPOC, the multitude of religious faiths and beliefs, and countless others that struggle for their sovereignty.  We are one and will not stand for the suffering to continue. When everyone is granted freedom, then we all are granted freedom.

In this moment of change, we must also remember to breathe into our bodies. We must remember to nurture and take care of ourselves. It is needed in order to continue the work that awaits us. Here is a blessing that you can offer to yourself. Give yourself the time, space, and care that you need. You are deserving of it and we have a long, hard battle ahead.

A Blessing Upon My Body

As I rise, I breathe in deeply to fill my body with sacred breath.

I feel my chest rise and fall,

My heart beat with Nature’s call,

I am connected to life all around me.

I bless my head, my crown of divinity.

May I know the wisdom of my soul.

I bless my sight, my hearing, my voice,

May I see, hear, and speak what is true.

I bless my shoulders.

I bless my spine.

May I be strong and steadfast to face what is difficult.

May I remember to be gentle and kind.

I bless my hands, my tools for my good works.

May they be open and guided by the divine.

I bless my heart, my connection and portal to Love.

May I be compassionate and offer Mercy to myself and others.

I bless my center.

I bless my core.

May I nurture my inner strength,

My inner peace,

And may I foster a safe space to explore.

I bless my belly, my cauldron of creation.

May I flourish in the wealth of my fertility and creative self-expression.

For I have the power to birth what is right and true for me.

This power is Divinely gifted.

It is Divine through me.

I bless my legs.

I bless my knees.

May I stand tall with the ability to bend.

I bless my feet as they touch the earth.

The earth, the Goddess’ own lush body.

May they carry me and ground me.

May I walk gently with purpose, dignity, and respect for myself, offering the same to the Earth and to others.

May these blessings guide and nourish me.

May they be all for a love most perfect, a trust most perfect.

May they seal me for my highest good, harming none.

Blessed Be.

Blessings to you and yours this day and every day.

Blessed Be.
